2025 Ripon Diamond Booster Club Travel Baseball

RDBC Player & Parent Waiver
Ripon Diamond Booster Club’s vision is to build youth for the future of our Ripon High School baseball/softball programs.

The Opportunity
This program will focus on teaching baseball/softball fundamentals and skill development. We will strive to improve your child’s baseball/softball IQ and general understanding of the game. The primary purpose of this program is to provide our young athletes an outlet to increase their skill development and prepare them to grow into successful student-athletes as well as respectable citizens. Although we expect hard work and dedication by our players, we also encourage fun and development of a love for the game.

Participation
Anyone age appropriate is eligible to participate in our general program. It is up to each coach on whether or not to hold try-outs; however, game playing time will not be equal. This is a competitive program. The teams we compete against are highly competitive, so the coaches reserve the right to make decisions on their roster to compete in each tournament. There may be limited movement between teams by players where needed and when age is appropriate. The total value of this program is not necessarily the games, but the additional practice time and development your child will receive.

We also encourage participation in the Ripon Youth Baseball/Softball program. This program offers a fun program that encourages participation, allows players to play different positions, and balances playing time. The RDBC traveling program is for the ball player who wants to compete in baseball/softball and strive to reach maximum potential. Our program understands that at this age many kids are at different levels in their game/skill development, so players will be placed into situations where they can safely and successfully participate at their level. This may differ from player to player.

Players (general conduct rules)
● Be a great teammate. Be respectful to everyone.
● Give 110%
● Discipline and safety are a must. Horsing around will not be tolerated.
● Players are not made in practice alone; help yourself by working outside of practice.
● No profane language. Remember who you are representing.
● Ripon Tiger sprint on and off the field!
● Nobody throws their helmet or bat in anger or disgust with their performance or a decision that goes against them or their team.
● Wear your uniform and look like a ball player. It is an honor to wear the word Ripon across your chest in any sport. Ripon Baseball/Softball represents success and tradition, so you will look like a serious team while you represent Ripon. Shirts must always be tucked in.
● Wear your caps the right way.
● Nobody (fans and players) yell at an umpire in a disrespectful way. Only the coaches can “talk to” or “work with” an umpire.
● There will be absolutely no disrespect shown to the opposing team, coaches, their fans, etc.
● Everyone on the team will help with gear and help with picking up the dugout. You are part of the team and will share the work.

Parents
● Be positive in both words and actions (this means within the community also)
● Support your child and their development at the level at which they are at, which may be different from others on the team.
● Communicate with your child’s coach about absences
● Help with Ripon hosted tournaments (set-up, clean-up, concession stand, field prep, etc.)
● Volunteer time at practices (as long as it is in accordance with the coach’s needs. The “more the better” is not always the best. It may cause distractions). If working with the team, you are working with the team. One-on-one time with your child should be done outside of practice.
● Remember that you too are representing Ripon.

Tournaments/Scrimmages/Practice
RDBC will host a home tournament for each age bracket. Each team is able to schedule up to 3 additional tournaments with the exception of 8U being allowed only 2 additional tournaments.
Scrimmages can be scheduled by the individual coaches. Please remember that practice allows participation by ALL team members and where knowledge is taught. Home scrimmages must be scheduled on Tuesdays and weekends for diamond usage.
8U-12U will practice on Tuesday evenings at Murray Park diamonds. This will allow for cross over work and the sharing of players and knowledge. Remember we are all part of the “Ripon Tiger Team”. 13U and 14U will be on the big diamond at Barlow or behind the high school and will have to work around the High School, Legion and Ripon Youth Baseball senior league.
